A LOOK BACK - ZOOM KOBE VI "DUKE"
A few weeks ago I started buying up GR Kobe VI's in anticipation of the rainy weather. My reason? As a sneakerhead, I don't just want a snug shoe to keep my feet dry and warm, I also need a shoe that's going to clean up well even after taking a beating. The rubbery uppers of the Kobe VI work perfectly for this. Even though I just reviewed the Dukes, the stormy weather has me bringing them back out again! SNEAKER REVIEW - ZOOM KOBE VI "DUKE"
The sixth numbered shoe from Kobe Bryant updates a bit from the Kobe V. With scales added to the flywire upper to further reflect the "mamba" motif, the shoes are both fresh on foot and light on the court. Both the V and the VI have a "Duke" edition which get their
name from the similarity in color to the uniform for the Duke Blue
Devils. In terms of big "what ifs", it's been said the Kobe might have gone to Duke University instead of directly to the NBA if offered a scholarship.
