Its tough to say where the nickname for these came from other than the red/purple color combo.  There is a similar colorway with grey on parts of the uppers that sometimes is also called the Raptor VII, however this retro is closer to the OG colorway.

These came as part of a 60+ pack that released together with a white/blue pair of "Orlando" AJVII's to celebrate Jordan hitting 60+ points in a game. Apparently, the date on the tongue (3/4/93) is supposedly the date of the game in reference for the 60+ points, yet Jordan didn't even play on this date!

MATERIALS: The shoe is all very very short-haired suede (almost nubuck).
COMES WITH:  Black laces and a special box meant to hold both pairs with a separate pull out drawer for each pair.
