Every year there is a new flagship model in the Air Jordan series. Most recent releases have been met with skepticism including the infamous 2009 model, and this year Jordan Brand seems to have outdone the previous years model yet failed to reach the levels of acclaim of the first Jordan models among collectors (a near impossible task). The most controversial aspect of the shoe this year has to be design regarding the "window" on the side. This is the first colorway that released in this model.
Here's a picture of them on foot:MATERIALS: The black portions of the upper are full grain leather. The white portions are smooth perforated leather, and the areas around the laceholes and around the window are suede. There are clear plastic pieces on the lower heel and around the pinky toe area as well as on the window. The midsole is white a with red outsole and black sole. They come with black laces.
FEATURES: For 2010's, these have no special features. As with all 2010's, there's a script on the mid/outsole that reads "I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." The window is said to be symbolic of MJ's ability to see through an opponent.
STREET VALUE: retail
MY NOTES ON ACTUALLY WEARING THESE: These are ridiculously comfortable. The toebox is cut so that it will not crease easily, and the shoe is easy to keep looking good and simple to clean. Fitting them to your own style might prove difficult if you don't keep an open mind. In other words, in terms of fashion, these shoes aren't for everyone. It was challenging to figure out which jeans I could wear with these, and overall I feel they look way better with shorts. The window actually opens up the look depending on if you wear red, white, black or even gray socks with these. These shoes are pretty much good to go in any season and like most black/white/red jordans look good with almost any top in those shades, or even a white tee and jeans.
