Kevin Durant has typically released his shoes at a lower price point than Kobe, Lebron, and Jordan. I'm not sure if it's this factor or the wider availability that had the KD3 being overlooked by collectors, but when the Christmas editions dropped, people started to pay more attention. While the silhouette doesn't suit all color combinations, the ASG or All Star Game colorway is a definite good look and is sought after to some extent by sneakerheads.
MATERIALS: How to describe the materials? The toebox, rear, upper eyelets and connecting areas are a reflective material that has a kind of sheen to it. The area around the toebox is flywire, while the area around the swoosh is an almost holographic material that give the illusion of this area being clear, red, or black, or a mix of all three depending on the angle from which they are viewed. The midsole is black with a translucent red outsole that has black and white accents. These come with red and black striped laces.
FEATURES: These feature a special All Star Game box and special designs on the insole and tongue and showing through the clear sole.
STREET VALUE: $130-150
MY NOTES ON ACTUALLY WEARING THESE: These are actually really comfortable! They will definitely crease after a few wears. These can take some contact with liquid, but you do not want to scuff these. The various reflective materials will show marks easily if these take a hit. Aside from that, feel free to clean the soles after every wear (to preserve their clarity) and the shoes should stay looking fresh for a while. The trick to rocking these is not to OD on the red, instead pairing these with a white-based top with red accents in summer or perhaps a black tee with some red on it in winter.
