The Air Jordan V has retroed many times with varying color schemes; the fire red colorway is one of the originals that has released at least 4 times! Some of the ways to tell the 2000 version are by the 3M tongue, lack of a 23 on the lower outer heels and "NIKE AIR" appearing on the rear of the shoe (as opposed to a Jumpman logo).

This colorway of the AJIII originally released in 1988.  Here we have a more recent retro, although when these came out, they still hadn't found a solution for the paint chipping on the midsoles, so a lot of worn pairs look really spotty in that area.  No special features adorn this pair of 3's and they get their name from the colorway.

The Air Jordan V has retroed many times with varying color schemes; the fire red colorway is one of the originals that has released at least 3 times! One of the ways to tell this particular retro is the black tongue. Some versions of this shoe released with a 3M tongue instead. The overall design of the shoe is said to be based on a WWII Mustang fighter plane, hence the spiked tooth design on the midsole.
