SNEAKER REVIEW - DUNK LOW SB "MOSQUITO"

Initially, everyone thought these were the Michaelangelo dunks, the Donatello mids having released not that much earlier, but by the time they released in late 2008, sneakerheads already had figured out that these were in fact not another TMNT-based shoe.  Apparently, a sample had been created based on OFF! insect repellent but was scrapped, with the release version being the Mosquitos.  Although I went with the red laces today, with neon sb laces, these are almost a poor man's Jedi dunk low.

MATERIALS: The tan parts are leather, the green parts are suede, and the swoosh is patent leather. The eyelets are 3M and the green areas feature tan contrast stitching.  They have a lime green midsole with red speckles and a light reddish gum outsole. My pair came with flat tan laces and red sb laces.
FEATURES: These have an image of a mosquito on the insoles, as well as the flat lace choice, special tips bearing the Swoosh logo on the aglets for both sets of laces, and the double swoosh (not often seen on dunk low sb's).
STREET VALUE: $100-160
MY NOTES ON ACTUALLY WEARING THESE: These are very, very comfortable. They will definitely crease on the toebox, but the rest of the shoe should stay fresh looking as long as you keep liquid away from the green suede and clean the gum sole after every wear. This shoe has a mixture of light and dark colors and some different textures on it making it variable as to when to rock these; ultimately they can be thrown on just to add a crazy element to an otherwise ordinary 'fit!
