Initially an online-only release, this shoe is also known as the Un-China's after their similarity to the "China" colorway that released around the same time overseas. The Lebron 8 is definitely a step forward in comfort from the LBJVII although some sneakerheads disagree as to whether the shoe's aesthetics lend itself well to decent colorblocking. Either way these are a good look on foot and I highly recommend getting at least one colorway of this model.
MATERIALS: The uppers are all leather with portions of flywire around the swoosh and near the toebox. The midsole has a red layer on top of a clear layer with red speckles and a red, white, and clear sole. Mine came with red laces.
FEATURES: This pair has been dubbed the "Home's" as the colorway matches the Miami Heat home Jersey. They do come in a nice pull out style box with nice paper but so do other Lebron 8's, so I don't really consider these "special" features of this colorway.
STREET VALUE: retail
MY NOTES ON ACTUALLY WEARING THESE: These seem snug at first, but with a small break-in period, these shoes become insanely comfortable. The shoe also cleans easily with a quick wipedown although the toebox and surrounding area may crease eventually. One issue with the shoe is that the red around the swoosh bleeds and can make the swooshes turn a slight pink tint. Some pairs are like this right out of the box, so be prepared to look past this defect if you decide to buy this colorway. Red/white shoes are pretty season independent and match well with almost anything else white or red.
