SNEAKER REVIEW - AIR JORDAN 1 "SPICE"

One of the last difficult-to-match shades of red Nike made famous was of course "infrared", used on Jordans and Air Maxes starting in the early 90's. Next, Nike came up with Max Orange, and now they are trying again with "Spice", the latest in a trend of orangish-reddish-pinkish colors. Good luck finding something to go with this recent Jordan colorway.

Here's a picture of them on foot:MATERIALS: The entire upper is leather except for the tongue which is nubuck/suede and the swoosh which is patent leather. They have a white midsole with spice stitching and a spice outsole. They came with spice colored flat laces, swapped out here to white flat laces.
FEATURES: These have no special features; I made up a name based on the colorway. Some refer to these as Ultraman 1's, but the red has a bit too much of the orange in it to truly say it is a UNLV colorway.
STREET VALUE: retail
MY NOTES ON ACTUALLY WEARING THESE: These are very comfortable, though a bit less cushy than many Jordan 1's I've encountered. The toebox will crease within one wear and the suede tongue can get spotty if wet. Otherwise the shoes are a breeze to clean with all the smooth leather and patent leather on the uppers. These shoes can be worn any time of year colorwise, once you factor in lace choice of gray, spice or white, which all give off different vibes when laced up on these. I believe the white laces pop a bit more on the shoe and make it possible to wear these any time of year. The spice laces seemed a bit overkill. Some gray laces might do well on these for the rainy season, and as long as the tongue is kept dry these can surely be sported in wet weather.
