SNEAKER REVIEW - AIR FORCE 180 "BUMBLEBEE"

The Air Force 180 was one of many different shoes that Charles Barkley wore during his basketball career.  This 2008 retro is a newer colorway.  They are also known as the "Wu-Tang" 180's, as black and yellow color combos can usually be assigned this nickname.  Although the look of this model is nice, this retro was not insanely popular with collectors (I picked up a ridiculously inexpensive pair at an outlet).

MATERIALS: The uppers are mostly suede/nubuck except the strap which is leather and the swoosh and surrounding panel which is a rubbery plastic type material.  The midsole is black and yellow with a white/black/yellow/clear outsole.  Mine came with black laces, swapped out to yellow here.
FEATURES: These are fairly featureless and get their name from the colorway which resembles either the insect or the Transformers character, take your pick.
STREET VALUE: retail
MY NOTES ON ACTUALLY WEARING THESE: These are fairly comfortable. Since its mostly black suede, the shoe won't really crease and dirt will be hard to see, although liquid might be another story.  Probably one of the reasons the shoe wasn't too popular upon its release is because the clear portion of the outsole yellows very quickly (mine was dull right out of the box).  In any case, keep the yellow parts of the shoe clean and that's about all you can do in terms of upkeep for this shoe.  This basic colorway works any time of year, pair the shoes with a black tee and you're good to go.  I've found the yellow laces brighten up the shoe a little bit and open you up to a brighter 'fit.
Thanks for reading this review!  Check out some of the size 9.5-10.5 Nikes I've recently put up for sale at www.kickitfresh.com!
