Hmmm... no crazy backstory, limited release, 80s reference or celebrity endorsement? What kind of sb dunks are these? Unfortunately, the kind that came out in 2009 during Nike SB's wildly unpopular switch to thin tongue dunk lows (which cast a bit of a shadow on the brand for a hot minute). While not an ideal situation for sales, this was great for people like me that actually wanted the shoe and were able to cop at a large discount.
MATERIALS: The upper rear and black portions up top are suede, the rest is a leather which has an odd feel/sheen to it, especially on the toebox and surrounding the swoosh. The midsole is black with red stitching and a clear red outsole. The included sb laces are red and black.
FEATURES: These are featureless for dunks and don't really have a nickname, I based the one in the title of this review on the colorway. The red set of laces are a little "flatter" than most sb laces, reminiscent of the Shoe Goo dunk high white/red laces.
STREET VALUE: retail
MY NOTES ON ACTUALLY WEARING THESE: These are very comfortable if not a little stiff when first worn. These are definitely going to crease around the toebox after a few wears, and the bottom of the eyelets can leave marks there when worn. Clean the sole after every wear and keep them dry and they should say decent looking for a while though. It's tough to go wrong with what is basically an enhanced "bred" colorway and these can look proper any time of year with either a black, red, or white tee.
