Another largely overlooked shoe, these released towards the end of 2009 to little fanfare. They appear to be based off of a workboot and are among a class of rarely seen monochromatic Nikes. I had to add the white laces in just to give these some pop! I have a feeling these would have done a lot better among sneakerheads if they had made the shoe entirely out of soft suede instead of the two different grades.
MATERIALS: The uppers are pretty much all suede, with the swoosh, inner wing and area around the inner swoosh being more of a shorthaired suede/nubuck material. There's a black midsole with white stitching and a grayish/tannish/gum-ish outsole. My pair came with black sb laces and yellow/brown boot laces.
FEATURES: Besides the boot laces, there's nothing remarkable about these at all in terms of dunk sb's; they get their name from the colorway.
STREET VALUE: retail
MY NOTES ON ACTUALLY WEARING THESE: These are really comfortable. Since the suede is dark, you probably won't notice (or even get) any creasing, and they can probably take some dirt and still look clean. As long as the white stitching on the midsole stays clean and the shoe stays dry for the most part, these should keep fresh looking. I broke these out with a brown and tan tee. I'd hesitate to wear any black with this shoe even though the midsole is black; black and dark brown usually aren't a good look together. The white laces add enough pop to where I probably could have worn a blue top with these and gotten away with it as well.
