Nike is known for referencing video games in its sneakers, and we've seen plenty of pacman-related footwear out of the sb camp. Today, we're looking at the Pacman dunk high sb, not to be confused with the Pacman sb blazer, blinky ghost sb low or ms pacman dunk low sb. These released last year and although the buildup was pretty big, these didn't really take off in popularity as expected.
Here's a picture of them on foot:
MATERIALS: Pretty much suede all over the red, yellow and light blue parts, and the dark blue parts are more of a nubuck. White midsole with blue stitching, yellow outsole, and white and yellow sb laces. The shoe also features yellow piping around the toebox and middle panels.
FEATURES: The only real feature to this dunk is the loud colors said to resemble different elements of the game Pacman. The piping adds to the look of the levels of the game.
STREET VALUE: retail (add a premium if you're looking to buy off a website, but resale among private sellers remains low)
MY NOTES ON ACTUALLY WEARING THESE: These fit true to size yet are a bit stiff at first. After wearing them for a few minutes they break in fairly quickly for a decent level of comfort. The toebox is somewhat creaseproof due to the materials but I think the "considered" (eco-friendly) materials used on the shoe have made wear on the sole occur way more quickly in terms of heel drag. Since the shoe is all suede, the light blue and red parts are the parts to really watch for stains, especially water. This colorway has both dark and light elements, making for a good festive-type shoe that can be worn any time of the year. Match it up with a colorful top in the summer, and with a darker blue outfit in other months.
