SNEAKER REVIEW - DUNK LOW SB "AQUA CHALKS"

A largely slept on shoe, the Aqua Chalks are a fresh pair of kicks from the black box days. My guess is the colorblocking and shades of blue used throw off many collectors, as well as these being fairly easy to find when they released (not so much now). There is no cited inspiration for the shoe, so it is named after the colorway instead.

Here's a picture of them on foot:

MATERIALS: The grey uppers and "chalk" swoosh are suede and the blue toebox and rear of the shoe are leather. "Chalk" midsole with matching stitching, grey outsole, blue NIKE on back, and comes with both chalk and grey laces.
FEATURES: The shoe features a print on the insole and the words "Nike Sports Research Lab Wear Tested" around a crest, also on the insole.
STREET VALUE: $90-120 depending on condition
MY NOTES ON ACTUALLY WEARING THESE: These fit true to size and are extremely comfortable. The toebox will crease on you pretty fast as it is blue leather. The suede hair is not long but feels nice and smooth to the touch. It's darker suede so you probably won't get the dinginess but water spots will still show up and be hard to get rid of. You could get away with wearing these at any time of the year, although they seem to be more of a winter shoe. The lace choice really will affect this - the chalk laces brighten the shoe up a bit for wear in sunny weather whereas the grey laces tone down the feel for a more muted look.
