SNEAKER REVIEW - DUNK LOW SB "WOODGRAIN"

Since this is the first true version of the "new" dunk low sb's that I've personally bought, it's only right that I sum up the main changes from previous versions; a fairly stuffed tongue, extra laceholes outside the bottom two eyelets on either side, additional padding on the rear ankle, and a "grippier" sole.  Some of these features were previewed with the Koston lows.  These shoes are reminiscent of another dunk low that released a little over a year earlier.  Initial samples showed these as having pinstripes on them on the blue portions of the shoe, making some sneakerheads liken them to the classic Avengers set, but the design was changed before the final release.

MATERIALS: The black parts are suede, the swoosh is leather, and the rest is a kind of etched suede/leather type material with a rough kind of feel.  They have a white midsole with matching stitching and a black outsole. My pair came with black and blue sb laces.
FEATURES: These feature a pinstripe print on the insole and are named after the material on the blue part of the shoe which resembles a woodgrain print.
STREET VALUE: retail
MY NOTES ON ACTUALLY WEARING THESE: These felt a little odd due to the back padding and shape when I first put them on, but after about 5 minutes of wearing them, they became fairly comfortable. I'm not really sure what the crease factor is for the woodgrain material, but it seems thin and kind of stiff so it may crease eventually on the toebox.  Since the shoe is so dark and the white parts can be easily wiped clean, these should stay fresh for a long time with minimal effort.  These are a nice winter shoe, with a majority of dark colors and subtle textures keeping the shoe looking low profile. I've found the swap out to the white laces adds just a little bit extra to the shoe in making it stand out a little bit more.
