What shoe is purple, green and shares a name with a well-known strain of... er... Well, if you guessed "Skunk", you'd be correct, but you could just as easily be referring to this dunk mid. Although technically, this 2009 release is based off of Aurora Borealis (the ACTUAL Northern Lights), in retrospect one can't help but wonder if these were a precursor to the much more popular, rare, and valuable Skunk Dunk Highs that released in 2010.
MATERIALS: The black parts are leather, the swoosh is a patent leather/plastic type material and the rest is suede. These feature purple contrast stitching on the strap and swoosh. They have a brownish midsole with purple stitching and a white outsole. My pair came with purple and black sb laces.
FEATURES: These have a special print on the insole in addition to the main feature which is the somewhat irridescent swoosh.
STREET VALUE: $100-120
MY NOTES ON ACTUALLY WEARING THESE: These are very comfortable. They will eventually crease on the toebox, and the greenish-brown suede can definitely get spotty from liquids, but as long as these stay dry you should be able to keep them looking clean with a quick wipedown of the white sole after each wear. These are a fall/winter shoe, with the dark colors and mellow hits of green on the strap, tag, and swoosh adding some pop. Black and brown actually work together on this shoe due to the odd shade of the brown utilized.
