While a newer colorway than some recent popular retros, this 2009 pair of AM95s really took off! It might have something to do with the popular use of the Freshwater color on the Air Max Griffey Jr. retro that released around the same time, but regardless, these shoes are a dope pickup for anybody that's into 95s.
MATERIALS: All the gray parts are suede, with the tongue, swoosh, and lace holes having blue accents. Mesh surrounds the laceholes and is on the toebox as well. The back of the shoe and middle of the tongue are 3M reflective material. The midsole is black, with the blue color coming through the air bubble. The sole is black and blue. The laces are white with somewhat reflective threading patterned in.
FEATURES: These are straightforward, no-frills 95s that get their name from the colorway.
STREET VALUE: retail
MY NOTES ON ACTUALLY WEARING THESE: I actually wore these a couple days in a row when I was on vacation in 2009, as these these are very comfortable and unlikely to crease quickly. However, the 3M can chip and the suede can get spotty so take care around liquids and muddy areas. I have had a problem with the air bubbles fogging up towards the rear; I haven't found a way to counteract this just yet.
