ERIK KOSTON 1 "SPORT RED/TOURMALINE"

click photo to enlarge
Here we have one of the first and best colorways of the Erik Koston 1.  I'm sure in years to come, sneakerheads will look back fondly, recalling "remember the one's, though?"
YEAR OF RELEASE:  2011
STYLE CODE:  442476 600
MATERIALS:  Suede
COMES WITH:  White and red flat laces
STREET VALUE:  $100

AIR FORCE 1 "HOT PUNCH"

click photo to enlarge
These released as part of the "embroidery pack", a set of three AF1s with stitched double swooshes.  Clearly, they are meant as an alternative to the "fireberry" colorways Nike has released on many models around the same time as these, utilizing the same dark blue, grey and hot pink color scheme.
YEAR OF RELEASE: 2012
STYLE CODE: 488298 013
MATERIALS: All nubuck uppers except the swoosh
COMES WITH:  Hot punch flat laces
STREET VALUE: $90

AIR MAX 1 ID "MIAMI"

AIR MAX 1 ID "MIAMI"

Sometimes, basing an ID off of an existing colorway has less to do with being able to afford the shoe that serves as the inspiration and more to do with getting a better quality product.  I've owned the Miami Dolphin sb's, even posting them to this blog on multiple occasions, but the quality of Brazil-exclusive releases is consistantly lacking.  My solution?  Create these AM1s in a similar colorway but made out of better materials!
YEAR OF RELEASE: 2012
STYLE CODE: 433213 997
MATERIALS: The white parts are mesh, the rest is denim except the swoosh which is suede.
COMES WITH:  A special box and paper with blue and orange flat laces.
STREET VALUE: priceless

AIR MAX 1 ID "HEINEKEN"

AIR MAX 1 ID "HEINEKEN"

Don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a classic colorway?  Redo them on Nike ID for a fraction of the cost!  I always wanted a pair of Heineken sb dunks but felt that the cost of a deadstock pair was a bit too extreme.  Enter these ID'd AM1s, which while not exactly the same, strongly evoke the original.  Plus, these have denim!
YEAR OF RELEASE: 2012
STYLE CODE: 433213 997
MATERIALS: The white parts are mesh, the rest is denim
COMES WITH:  A special box and paper with black and red flat laces.
STREET VALUE: $150

AIR FORCE 1 "YEAR OF THE DRAGON 2"

Learn more about the Air Force 1 YOTD

AIR FORCE 1 "YEAR OF THE DRAGON 2"

Here we have a second version of the YOTD AF1s, certainly more colorful and eye-catching than their black and white predecessors.  From the scale print on the suede parts of the upper to the prints on the tongue and insole to the Chinese characters on the back, the shoe really takes in a lot of elements of the dragon theme and is said to be based on Chinese dragon boats.
YEAR OF RELEASE: 2012
STYLE CODE: 539771 670
MATERIALS: The blue parts are leather, the red parts are a dragonscale-textured suede, the swoosh is metallic gold-painted leather, the tongue is a cloth basketweave and the midsole is wrapped in leather.
COMES WITH:  These come with a special pull out box with a dragon-imprinted plastic outer-wrap, a "XXX" set of lacelocks to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the AF1, a blue set of laces and a red set.
STREET VALUE: $200.  I got my pair from Bows and Arrows in Berkeley!

AIR FORCE 1 ID "SOUTH BEACH"

I'm borderline about to stop buying new releases altogether and start making Nike ID's all the time.  The materials are better and I get a truly unique shoe, unless someone goes so far as to copy my design directly.  Here we have a pair that I customized based off of the Lebron 8 South Beach colorway, but I wanted to have options, so the only pink is on the laces.  If I swap to white, black, or blue laces instead, the look is transformed completely.
YEAR OF RELEASE: 2012
STYLE CODE: 444758 998
MATERIALS: The uppers are all smooth leather.
COMES WITH: I got these with infrared and chlorine blue laces, both have metal tips.  I've swapped them out here for hot pink to complete the SB look.  These also include a special shoebox and paper along with the AF1 certificate of authenticity.
STREET VALUE: priceless

AIR MAX PENNY "ORLANDO"

Here we have a retro of an OG colorway of Penny Hardaway's first signature shoe.  This version released a bit under the radar and sold out quickly.
YEAR OF RELEASE: 2010
STYLE CODE: 313171 241
MATERIALS: The black uppers are suede, the rest is a rubbery type material (the white parts of the upper seem very similar to the sole itself to me).
COMES WITH:  My pair came with black laces.
STREET VALUE: $160
