LEBRON 9 "MIAMI HURRICANES"

These closely resemble the player edition colorway of the Lebron IX's that the University of Miami basketball team got to rock during the 2011 NBA season.  The main difference in the two releases is the logo on the tongue.
YEAR OF RELEASE: 2011
STYLE CODE: 469764 102
MATERIALS: The uppers are a mix of shiny leather, flywire and a carbon fiber-ish woven material.
COMES WITH: These come with flat orange laces that have the Lebron crown logo by the toe and a pull out drawer style box.
STREET VALUE: $220

LEBRON 9 "SUMMIT LAKE"

Every year we get a new purple/teal edition of the Lebron flagship model; this colorway is usually assigned the "Summit Lake Hornets" nickname.  They are based off of the uniform of Lebron's childhood basketball team.
YEAR OF RELEASE: 2012
STYLE CODE: 469764 500
MATERIALS: Shiny leather, flywire and a carbon fiber-ish woven material.
COMES WITH:  My pair came with purple lebron laces
STREET VALUE: $200

LEBRON IX "MIAMI NIGHTS"

Such a fresh colorway.  I couldn't get the 8s so I had to settle with these 9s and I'm glad I did.  Whereas the MN 8's were difficult to get, these were fairly easy to attain if you paid attention when they dropped.  They take their inspiration from the city of Miami and the vivid colors that represent the nightlife there.
YEAR OF RELEASE:  2011
STYLE CODE: 469764 002
MATERIALS: Shiny leather, flywire and a carbon fiber-ish woven material.
COMES WITH:  These come with both black and pink lebron laces.
STREET VALUE: $300

LEBRON IX "BLACK HISTORY MONTH"

Similar to Christmas, All-Star Weekend, and now Easter, certain Nike shoes typically get a special edition during February for Black History Month.  Here we get what appears to be a very straightforward colorway, with the exception of the hints of color on the interior and sole.  This is a bit of a change up from the previous years' gold-infused colorway.
YEAR OF RELEASE:  2012
STYLE CODE: 530962 001
MATERIALS: Shiny leather, flywire and a carbon fiber-ish woven material.
COMES WITH:  These come with black laces and special BHM lacelocks.
STREET VALUE: $225.

LEBRON IX "DUNKMAN"

Every year there's a new Lebron Dunkman.  The IX's feature the dunkman logo on the back of each shoe per usual, although this year a few pairs released with a Swingman style halo around the logo.  The Swingman colorway released at the same time as these which might explain the production error, although the version I got is sans halo.
YEAR OF RELEASE:  2012
STYLE CODE: 469764 006
MATERIALS: Shiny flywire and a carbon fiber-ish woven material.
COMES WITH:  These come with gray and black lebron laces with logos and 3M hits.
STREET VALUE: retail

LEBRON IX LOW "EASTER"

Just like several Christmas shoes release for NBA players, we also get some Easter-flavored kicks.  Here we have the first Lebron IX release in a lowtop with an exterior reminiscent of a shiny painted eggshell.
YEAR OF RELEASE:  2012
STYLE CODE: 510811 001
MATERIALS: Iridescent hyperfuse material covers the uppers.
COMES WITH:  These come with gray Lebron laces with logos.
STREET VALUE: retail.  I got my pair from deadstockshoes.com!

NIKE LEBRON IX "CHRISTMAS"

It's now tradition that certain Nike-sponsored NBA players have a special colorway for Christmas.  This year, Lebron went with a familiar green and red colorway that still manages to stand out.  These were a limited release and a welcome addition to most any Lebron IX collection.

YEAR OF RELEASE:  2011
STYLE CODE: 469764 602
MATERIALS: Shiny leather, flywire and a carbon fiber-ish woven material.
COMES WITH:  These come with green and red lebron laces with logos and 3M hits.
STREET VALUE: $225.  Shout out to kidkonnection on ISS for the hookup!

LEBRON 9 "COOL GRAY"

Every year, Nike Basketball releases a gray/white colored shoe in nearly all of its signature lines.  Some might have dismissed this release as a boring colorway, but the bits of 3M really help the shoe stand out!  At the least, these make great beaters for any fan of Lebron's sneakers!

LEBRON 9 "MANGO"

Can't stop won't stop when it comes to 9's.  Here we have what I believe to be a GR release, but the subtle touches such as the speckled sole and hints of 3M make these really stand out.  The shoe gets its name from the colorway.

SNEAKER REVIEW - LEBRON 9 "FREEGUMS"

Today I'm sporting yet another pair of Lebron 9's.  Two very similar looking white-based pairs have surfaced on this model; the homes/Scarfaces and the Freegums.  There are a few differences between the two though; the Scarfaces feature visible red flywire, while these are a collaboration with the artist Alvaro “Freegums” Ilizarbe and feature his artwork on the toe area and inner lining as well as on the paper that comes with the shoes.  These released on New Year's eve, with 150 pairs in a limited lasered wooden box and the rest in a regular white Lebron 9 box.  The shoes fit a little snug initially but break in to a perfect fit and can stand up to a beating from the elements and still be cleaned with a quick wipe down.

LEBRON 9 "OSU"

Three Lebrons reviewed already and I have no thoughts of stopping just yet.  Here we have the Ohio State University version of the shoe which has been generally slept on so far.  However, I'm a sucker for the Ultraman colorway and the Lebron IX so you know this was a definite cop.  Of note is the shiny red area on the toebox, very reminiscent of the KDIII ASG.

SNEAKER REVIEW - LEBRON 9 "CANNON"

I'm sure you're going to see me reviewing many pairs of the Lebron IX.  For now, it feels like the nicest shoe currently out there.  This particular pair I managed to get ahead of the official release date.  It gets it's name from the shade of green used on the uppers.

LEBRON 9 "KENTUCKY"

The Lebron 8 V3 did away with the 360 air bag from the Lebron 8 V1 and V2.  Here, Nike has taken the changes seen in the V3 and evolved the shoe into the Lebron 9.  Overall, the shoe is well put together with a lot of detail.  This particular colorway is based off of the team uniforms for the University of Kentucky.

SNEAKER REVIEW - AIR JORDAN IX "SILVER ANNIVERSARY"

These came out in 2010 alongside a few other mostly white models for the 25th anniversary of Air JordansSeveral other IX's released that year, but these only dropped at certain stores.  Although they initially sat online, they now typically command more than retail in deadstock condition.

A LOOK BACK - AIR JORDAN IX "CITRUS"

Thunderstorms anticipated today, so here's a look back at a rugged all-black shoe that should do the trick keeping my feet warm and dry.  These also should be fairly easy to clean once I get back to the house!  Enjoy some pics below and check out the original review here.
